Casper
The Ladybird Animal Sanctuary rescued Casper from a high-kill shelter in Laval, Quebec where he was signed over by his owners because they didn’t want him anymore.
Thanks to the lovely people at T.E.A.M Cat and Dog Rescue, Casper was delivered to us through a series of volunteer drivers. He came all the way from Quebec to Hamilton where we were happy to pick him up!
Casper has now been neutered and he’s settling into his foster home well. He likes exploring and hanging out with his foster family.
Here’s a note from Casper’s foster home: “Casper has settled very well. He is adorable. He needs A LOT of exercise. He does not like loud noises but he is ok with dogs. He likes pets in between his ears it always calms him down when he is worried. He gets scared when you’re lifting him of the ground to pick him up but fine when he is being held. When you are putting him down kneel then lower him or he will jump out of your arms. He is very cuddly at times but very active at others. He really likes apples, they are his favourite. He chews on stuff sometimes when he’s running but not that much (he prefers his chew toys). He is a great bunny and would be a good fit to any home.”
Casper found his forever home with a lovely family!
We ask that our rabbits not be housed in the types of rabbit cages they sell in pet stores. Our fostered rabbits are housed in x-pens or similar enclosures so they have lots of room to move around when they aren’t out for floor time. Commercially made pet store rabbit cages are far too small to allow rabbits to stretch out and move around with ease.
Here are some great websites outlining alternative rabbit housing using x pens and similar enclosures.
