Flint
* Flint found his forever home with fantastic people! Yay! *
Back in 2015, Ladybird rescued Flint from Hamilton Animal Services where he ended up as a stray. He had an issue with his eye, but after some great care by our vets and his foster home, the eye cleared up wonderfully. Flint was adopted a couple of months after his arrival, and he spent more than four years with his adopters. Unfortunately when his adopter’s situation changed, he had to be returned to our care. Flint is now available for adoption again.
He got a clean bill of health at his vet visit, other than needing to shed a bit of weight. He’s shy at first, but he loves attention when he feels comfortable. In his first home, Flint lived with a large dog, whom he loved. But when that dog passed away and a smaller dog was brought into the home, he did not get along well with the second dog and would become aggressive towards him. For that reason, Flint would do best in a home with adults, older children, and without any other animals.
Here’s a note from Flint’s foster home:
“Flint is a shy boy who didn’t come out of hiding for almost a week. Now that he is out, he still startles easily and slowly slinks around exploring. He is starting to get used to the place, and demands head scratches vigorously.
He has become good at settling down for a snuggle, but still isn’t quite fully there as of yet.
He is fine with nail trimming (!?!), which is an amazing bonus. He likes the cat tree to keep an eye on the outside and he also very much likes the scratching post.
Every day, this handsome boy gets more and more comfortable in his space and he is a beautiful, calm cat.
Having been uprooted from his previous life, it is taking him some time to fully be comfortable. But he is already a sweet, loving and handsome cat, who will only become more of these things as time progresses. ”
