Gouda
We rescued Motzy and Gouda from a high-kill shelter in Quebec. Big thanks to the Freedom Drivers volunteers for transporting the rats to us!
At their vet visit, it was discovered that Motzy and Gouda had lice, so they were treated with a topical flea treatment that cleared them up.
After a short time in their foster home, it was noticed that Gouda was picking on Motzy quite a lot. Because Motzy is much older than Gouda and is in frail health, our vets recommended separating them. Gouda is doing just fine on his own, and he’s now ready to find his forever home.
Here’s a note from Gouda’s foster mom:
“Gouda is an adorable rat who loves to be held and even gives kisses! He’s quite a big fella and is currently working on shedding some weight. However, he is very curious and pretty active for his size. As you can see in the pictures, he has the most beautiful coat of wavy fur too. It’s recommended that he should not be with other rats due to his tendency of being overly dominant and greedy with food. Gouda is guaranteed to make you smile!”
We recommend Critter Nation cages, or a similar cage set up for rats. These cages give rats a large amount of space to move around and explore.
Gouda found his forever home with a lovely person!
