Honey
We rescued Honey from Hamilton Animal Control. Honey’s elderly owner surrendered her to HAC because he was not able to look after her any longer.
Honey was so scared in her kennel at HAC, but still so sweet, we knew we had to get her out as soon as we could. We took Honey straight to the vet for a check-up. Honey needs to lose quite a lot of weight, but she’s otherwise pretty healthy. She was so great at the vet, and wasn’t phased at all by being examined.
After the vet, we took her to Empire Dogs Grooming Salon for a much needed bath and groom. She was just as great with the staff there and was very patient with all the water and clipping and shaving. The groomers did a fantastic job, and even gave her little bows in her hair. So cute!
After her groom, Honey’s wonderful foster family met her and took her home. (thanks to the staff at Empire Dogs for helping us find Honey’s amazing foster family!)
It’s likely Honey will be a foster fail, (meaning that the foster family will “fail” at fostering and end up adopting her) but we’ll keep you posted.
Welcome Honey! We love you so much already!
Update: May 8th, 2016
Here’s a Mother’s Day story to warm your heart.
Honey’s foster home were pretty sure they were going to adopt her, but John (husband) told Kris (wife) many times that he wanted to wait to adopt Honey because he wasn’t 100% sure. Turns out, giving Kris this excuse was all a ploy! Last week, John emailed us secretly asking to meet us to make the adoption official, but he wanted it to be a Mother’s Day surprise for Kris. Today, he and their daughter gave Kris her Mother’s Day gift; Honey’s adoption paperwork! Best Mother’s Day surprise ever!
Congrats on your adoption day Honey! And happy Mother’s Day to Kris, and to all moms out there…to human kids and pet kids alike!
