Lina
* Lina found her forever home with lovely people! Yay Lina! *
Lina was brought into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. She’s the tiniest, cutest little dog we’ve ever seen! Such a sweet wee thing.
Lina had some pretty rotten teeth, and she was suffering from a bladder infection that HAC staff put her on medication for. On her rescue day, we took Lina to the vet for a check-up. We’d like to thank Dr. Wimmers at Limestone Valley Animal Hospital for fitting Lina in for an appointment. Dr. Wimmers gave Lina some more medication for her infection and she headed to her foster home to get better.
We’ll let Lina take it from here. She wanted to tell you her story herself!
“Hello everyone, my name is Lina. I am 3.2 pounds of pure canine.
I was rescued by Ladybird in February and was in pretty rough shape. I had a urinary tract infection that made us have to wait before we could look at fixing up anything else. Once the infection was done, then my teeth were cleaned, during this point, the vet noticed a small surgical scar on my belly. This is usually what comes from spay surgery. But this was not my case, imagine my foster mom’s surprise when I went into heat! So we we needed to wait a little bit before the spay surgery. This has been done and I have a clean bill of health. Hopefully this answers any questions as to why it took a longer time than usual to look at adoption.
Now for the interesting part, ME!
I am super cute!, super tiny and super sweet! Like many very small dogs, I may bark at a person or another dog, but once I know you, that stops.
I love being carried around and snuggling up to people, I will sit on your lap. I will sit beside you on the couch. I will crawl under your blanket in bed or in a nap. Don’t even try to stop me. I like to be warm. Little dogs have a little bit of trouble staying warm.
I am fast and if you have a cat, I will steal the cat’s food unless you put it out of my reach. I can jump on a bed and land a couch.
I am now trained for using pee pads in the house, being as small as I am, when I have to go, I have to go.
I love walking in the warm weather. I do not like cold weather and snow for a long time. After a while, I will expect you to carry me and I will be very happy.
My foster parents and I believe that I would be best adopted by someone who is home most of the time. Perhaps someone who works from home, someone who is retired (I am amazing company!), someone who might be able to bring me to work…I do not do well being left alone for a long time.
I get along well with other dogs and cats. I love people.
I love being cuddled, carried, brushed, pet, talked and sung to. I will climb up into your piano while you play.
I like to pull at the leash when we walk and chase squirrels and birds in the garden. Even though they are bigger than me!
I like treats and to eat. I like my foster sister dogs and cats. I have settled easily in this foster home.
All in all…I am a dog. I am a good dog and am very easy to love.”
Please adopt Lina!
