Mary
* Ginger, Mary and Justine found their forever home with a lovely person! **
Ginger, Justine and Mary were surrendered to the OSPCA by their owners because they were “unwanted.”
They were suffering from a respiratory issue that the shelter was not willing to treat, and for this reason, they were scheduled to be euthanized. A volunteer at the shelter reached out to us for help, and thanks to the Freedom Drivers Animal Transport volunteers, we were able to get the rats to safety!
We got Ginger, Justine and Mary a vet appointment and the medication they needed. It didn’t take too long for the respiratory issue to clear up, and now they’re ready to find their forever home!
These three girls are a little shy, but they warm up pretty quickly. They enjoy each other’s company and they are almost always found curled up together for naps in their hammock. We’re asking that they be adopted as a trio so they can be forever friends.

Please adopt Ginger, Justine and Mary!
Ginger, Justine and Mary were named after the members of a fantastic Hamilton based music trio called The Pistolettes. Check them out when you can!
Ladybird recommends Critter Nation cages. They are hands down the most spacious, and best quality enclosure for small animals on the market. They come in single and double sizes, and can be modified and customized to create enrichment and provide comfort. Their design and solid manufacturing almost entirely eliminates the possibility of accidental escape. Critter Nation cages are available (or can be ordered) at most local pet supply stores.
Can’t adopt but want to help?
Monetary donations are always needed, but if you’d like to donate something specifically for the rats in our care, donations of rat food and small pet blankets (used for cage lining) are very much appreciated!
