Fitz
* Fitz and Hemingway found their forever home with a lovely person! *
We rescued Zelda, Fitz, Hemingway, Elliot and Ezra from Hamilton Animal Services.
Zelda was found pregnant and dumped in a conservation area. She was brought to HAS, and on March 30th, she gave birth to three healthy babies! She was very frightened at the shelter, so a very kind staff member took her home temporarily to alleviate her stress and so she could look after her babies in peace. Shortly after, an orphaned kitten of similar age to Zelda’s kittens showed up at HAS. The staff member introduced this new kitten to Zelda, and she took the baby in like one of her own! So sweet!
To save Zelda the stress of going back to the shelter, the HAS staff member was kind enough to deliver Zelda and her little ones to a Ladybird foster home and the family has done wonderfully there.
Zelda is shy, but she constantly purrs when given attention. She has come out of her shell quite a lot since coming into our care, thanks to lots of love from her foster family. And look how much those babies have grown! So adorable.
Zelda has a spay appointment coming up soon, and she’ll be available for adoption shortly after. Elliot and Ezra both have heart murmurs, so they’ll be staying in foster care a bit longer so we’re able to sort out exactly what they’ll need long term. But, Fitz and Hemingway are ready to find their forever home!
* Please note – we are asking that Fitz and Hemingway be adopted as a pair. Click here to read all the reasons why double adoptions are best for kittens. Two kittens are twice the fun!
Here’s a note from Fitz and Hemingway’s foster home:
“Fitz and Hemingway are the sweetest and cutest little fur babies! They love to play, play, play then snuggle up together for a nap. They’re active kittens, but tire each other out. They love people and as soon as I walk into their room they both run up to say hi and check if I brought any treats. With that being said, they are both a little shy with strangers, but once they get to know you they will crawl all over you! They love to explore and are very curious. They both have big appetites and are completely litter trained.
Fitz is the more outgoing of the two. He was the first kitten to take his first steps out of the nest and start on kitten food, with Hemingway close behind him. Fitz is Mr. Personality and he’s very social. He loves to sit in my lap and be close to people. He loves kitty toys and goes crazy when I bring out the wand toy!
Hemingway is the biggest of the kittens and if things continue this way I think he will grow to be a large boy. He has beautiful markings and a sweet personality. He was the most timid of the kittens in the beginning, but as he’s gotten older he has come out of his shell. I think his close relationship with fun loving Fitz has helped him overcome some of his initial fears and now he loves people and getting attention! He’s very affectionate with his siblings and his mama. He loves toys and he loves chasing his siblings around the room, but he’s also a pretty relaxed guy. He’s going to grow to be a big sweet boy!
The family to adopt Fitz and Hemingway will be getting two very loving boys and will be very lucky!”
Please adopt Fitz and Hemingway!
