* Rizzo found his forever home with lovely people! *

We rescued Nicodemus and Rizzo from a shelter in Quebec. Big thanks to Freedom Drivers Volunteer Transport  volunteers for getting the rats to us!
Nicodemus and Rizzo’s owner surrendered them to the shelter because “they were fighting but couldn’t be separated because they were escaping.” The shelter separated them when they arrived. Nicodemus and Rizzo both had some scrapes and cuts on them, and their fur was quite sparse. Shortly after their rescue, we got them into the vet and they were prescribed a round of medication for a minor respiratory issue. They healed up well, their fur came back in nicely and they were finally healthy enough to be made available for adoption.
Sadly, Nicodemus passed away suddenly in mid-February from unknown causes. We believe that Nicodemus and Rizzo are much older than their previous owners disclosed, and we think Nicodemus’ passing was likely age related.

Rizzo is a sweet, but shy rat. He would benefit from a forever home who has some rat experience. He likes a daily treat of fruit/veggies, soda crackers and a variety of other yummy snacks.
He’d love a forever home where he has lots of space in his enclosure to explore and to lounge. He’s great at digging and stockpiling, so his foster family provide him with generous piles of shredded paper for him to make nests with. He loves it!
