Tiny (Monsieur Baguette)
* Tiny found his forever home with amazing people! *
Tiny (a.k.a. Monsieur Baguette) was found as a stray and brought into Hamilton Animal Services. He had a microchip that traced to a vet clinic in Quebec, but there was no owner information listed. When Tiny arrived at HAS, his eyes were crusted shut, and he was so matted that HAS staff had to shave him down so he could walk properly. His teeth were rotten, he had an infection in both ears, skin issues, and some “old dog” lumps and bumps. Despite all this, Tiny had a wagging tail and happy smile for everyone he met during his time at the shelter.
We were happy to spring Tiny out of HAS when a foster home opened up. What a sweet dog this guy is. Though he is mostly deaf and has limited vision, he is the friendliest little thing.
All went well at Tiny’s vet visit. The vet thought it was likely that Tiny’s right cornea ruptured at some point and healed over. Hence why that eye is smaller than the other. It doesn’t bother him though and no medication is required. Tiny’s adopter will need to keep the eye clean and free of the “crusties” that may build up there. Tiny can definitely see, but his vision is limited. He has bonked into a few things in his foster home, but he gets around quite well for an old cataract eye guy! 😁
We got Tiny dental surgery and he did great. He’s now minus all his teeth. His mouth was such a mess, we can’t imagine the amount of pain he was in for so long. Tiny healed perfectly from his surgery and he’s now ready to find his forever home!
Though he’s an older dog, Tiny has a lot of energy and is always trying to engage the other dogs in his foster home to play. He would benefit from having another small dog to play with in his new home. He loves toys and has a few favourites that he vigorously digs at and will chase if you throw them. He loves the cats in his foster home and can often be found curled up with them.
Because of his limited vision, adopters will need to be careful to be sure he doesn’t tumble down stairs or off of couches or beds.
Tiny’s only issue is that he’s not 100% housetrained. When he first arrived at his foster home, he would be put into a puppy pen when his foster family were not home. He never soiled the pen at all. But when he is left out in the home when his foster family are out, they will come home to accidents. He will sleep through the night (curled up in bed with his foster people) so he is capable of “holding it” for many hours. Having a forever home where someone is home most of the time would be helpful for him.
Tiny loves people and wants to be near his foster people all the time. He will demand petting by reaching out and pawing at your hand. He truly is a sweet little dog!
Please adopt Tiny!

Tiny was a Forever Home Friday feature!
Here’s a note from Tiny’s adopter:
“Tiny came to live with us March 9, 2019 and our lives have been so enriched by his presence here. He is the most easy going, adaptable, funny and courageous little man (dog) I’ve ever come across. Although he is profoundly deaf, mostly blind and hasn’t got any teeth, he enjoys the company of his brother and sisters and finds his way around mostly without running into anything. He does a stretch we call his “downward dog” and often dances around excitedly waiting for his meal to be served. He really enjoys eating and doesn’t let anyone cut in and share his food. He just came home last weekend from a holiday with us at a cottage on Kennisis Lake near Haliburton. He enjoyed paddle boarding with me and loved being outdoors with his pals. Although we realize he is quite elderly, we see each day with him as such a gift. Love this little man and the joy he brings to each day!
Aym and Lynn”
