Mags
* Mags and Marlowe found their forever home with a wonderful family! Woo hoo! *
Mags, Marlowe, Sun, Moon and Emerald were found outdoors on their own and brought to Hamilton Animal Services. It’s likely these rabbits were originally from a nearby home where rabbits were being indiscriminately bred and allowed to wander the owner’s property, and the neighbourhood. Thankfully, several rescue organizations stepped in and took as many of the remaining rabbits they could catch.
The babies had a vet visit on their rescue day, and although they were healthier than little Diamond who came from the same area, they were still quite thin and frail. They were treated with medication for worms and fleas, and they did really well over the next couple of months at their foster homes.
Everything went great for their spay and neuter surgeries, and now they’re ready to find their forever home!
We’ll be asking that Mags and Marlowe be adopted as a pair as they’re quite bonded to each other.
Here’s a report from their foster home:
“From the day these two white balls of fluff came into my foster care they have been inseparable.
Very confident Mags (female) loves to explore and zoom around the room. Sweet gentle Marlowe (male) is always just one hop behind her.
Mags enjoys head pets and doesn’t mind being picked up for short periods of time. But Marlowe is more what you would call a lap-bun! He loves attention and being picked up and carried to the couch where he will snuggle up with you while you watch your favourite rom-com. That is as long as Mags is within eyesight of course.
You will always find these two side by side, from binkying around the room exploring, to being flopped over stretched out gazing into each others eyes.
It really is adorable how much these two don’t mind sharing! They share every piece of dandelion leaf, carrot, celery, and even right down to the last blueberry. I’ve spent hours just watching these two interact with one another. It’s never a dull or non-cute moment with these two.
Some of M&M’s hobbies include: doing renovations to their box forts by chewing new tunnels to the different levels of their castle. They enjoy spending time in their big hay hutch and igloo tower. And they go absolutely bonkers for new toys!
Points to mention- Mags & Marlowe do extremely well with cats in the home as they have made best friends with their foster kitty. They are used to a household with a few dogs. They are not fully litter box trained but they are very close! Currently they are living pen free in their own big room which they really enjoy. I am confident they could adjust going back to a large pen if need be with lots of outside pen time. They are such gentle rabbits that they would be suitable for even first time rabbit owners.
These two are the sweetest loving buns and anyone would be lucky to have them!”

Our fostered rabbits are housed in x-pens or similar enclosures so they have lots of room to move around when they aren’t out for floor time. Some of our rabbits are free range in their foster home.
Commercially made pet store rabbit cages are far too small to allow rabbits to stretch out and move around with ease.
Here are some great websites and photos outlining alternative rabbit housing using x pens and similar enclosures.
