Apricot
* Apricot has been adopted by a lovely family! Yippee! *
Apricot was brought into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray, but no owner came forward to claim her. She was spayed and declawed by her previous owner, but she was not microchipped.
We were happy to get Apricot out of the shelter when a foster home opened up, and she went from the shelter straight to the vet. The vet let us know that Apricot is health, other than her teeth, which were pretty awful. She had likely been in a lot of pain for a long time judging by the condition of her mouth. Poor girl! Her blood work came back normal, so we got her the dental surgery she needed. Now that she’s all healed up from surgery, Apricot is ready to find her forever home!
Here’s a note from Apricot’s foster family:
“Apricot is a busy girl who loves to be up high! She enjoys snoozing in a high window, exploring and enjoys watching the outdoors. She would benefit from cat shelves, trees and other high up cat spaces!
Apricot really likes having a person near by, she rubs against you and wants pats. Sometimes she’ll flop over and allow a few belly rubs. She has super soft fur, and looks much younger than she is! She can be picked up and doesn’t scramble, but she doesn’t relax while in your arms.
Apricot is also chatty, she has quiet meows and will respond if you talk to her. Her meows increase in volume for car rides, but she does like it if you talk to her in a baby voice. She doesn’t have claws but enjoys simulating scratching, she’d like a scratching post or two!
We’re not sure how she’d be with other animals yet. So far she is growly but doesn’t swat or hide so she would likely be okay with proper introductions, but it will take a bit longer to know for sure.
Apricot is an outgoing cat who also likes people, she’s an awesome well rounded girl and her future family will be very lucky to have her!”
