Strudel
* Snickerdoodle and Strudel found their forever home together with a wonderful family! Yippee! *
Snickerdoodle and Strudel were found as strays and brought to Hamilton Animal Services. Nobody came forward to claim them, and when a foster home opened up we were glad to get this sweet pair out of the shelter.
They had their spay and neuter surgeries on their rescue day, and everything went well. Snickerdoodle and Strudel are now healed from their surgeries, and they’re ready to find their forever home!
Here’s a note from their foster home:
“Snickerdoodle and Strudel are two of the loveliest bunnies in town.
Strudel is at once both a lover and a fighter. One minute, she’ll hop up onto you and lick your nose, and the next she’ll be hopping around the room finding something to burrow into or nibble on, or nudging your foot to get you to move it out of the way. If you don’t do what she’s asking, she may nip a little, especially on clothing. She’s big on being groomed, and is curious and confident.
Snickerdoodle is an explorer – he’s a little less confident than Strudel, but will still hop all over you or sit with you to watch TV when the mood strikes him. He’s less accepting of strokes, but when he’s feeling open to them he’ll melt right into the floor. He has never nipped, and gets very excited at the thought of jumping on top of cardboard boxes.
As is the case with most bunnies, neither of them like to be picked up – but they’ll hop up onto you when they want to. Bunnyproofing is required as they’re both very curious and are likely to nibble on any wires they can find. They don’t tend to nibble on wooden furniture, but may occasionally try.
They’re wonderful rabbits who are full of character and deserve a long and happy life with the right home.”

Our fostered rabbits are housed in x-pens or similar enclosures so they have lots of room to move around when they aren’t out for floor time. Some of our rabbits are free range in their foster home.
Commercially made pet store rabbit cages are far too small to allow rabbits to stretch out and move around with ease.
Here are some great websites and photos outlining alternative rabbit housing using x pens and similar enclosures.
