* Einstein and Newton found their forever home together with awesome people! Yay! *

Einstein and Newton were surrendered to Hamilton Animal Services by their owner because they were moving out of province. They spent an extended time at the shelter before HAS staff reached out to us for help. These poor guys are somewhat skittish (especially Newton) and they weren’t doing great in a shelter environment.
We were happy to get them out of the shelter and into a quiet foster home. They had a vet visit and were given a clean bill of health. They’re now ready to find their forever home.

Einstein and Newton would do best in a home with no children, and with folks who have rat experience. They are not fond of being handled, and they will nip if they feel threatened. They’ll need someone who can respect their boundaries, and who is willing to put in the time and effort to help them be more comfortable. Einstein and Newton are very curious boys and they will come to the front of their cage to say hello to whomever comes near. They love strips of newspaper, and they carry it around the cage to make nests in their favourite spots. Cheerios are their favourite snack.

They come in single and double sizes, and can be modified and customized to create enrichment and provide comfort. Their design and solid manufacturing almost entirely eliminates the possibility of accidental escape. Critter Nation cages are available (or can be ordered) at most local pet supply stores.

Can’t adopt but want to help?
Monetary donations are always needed, but if you’d like to donate something specifically for the rats in our care, donations of rat food, small pet blankets (used for cage lining), rat hammocks and fleece liners for Critter Nation cages are very much appreciated!
