Fred
* Fred found his forever home with awesome people! Woo hoo! *
Fred came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. He had an injury to his eye area, so HAS staff sent him straight to the vet to get treatment. The vet thought the injury looked like a bite wound. Poor Fred! He hung out at the clinic for a few days for his treatment, and was then returned to the shelter to wait out his stray time. Nobody came forward to claim this friendly guy, and when a foster home opened up, we were happy to get him out of the shelter.
First stop – to the vet to be fixed! He did great for the surgery and he charmed everyone he met at the clinic. Such a sweet and chatty guy! Fred tested positive for FIV, but he doesn’t currently have any health issues because of it. He had a re-check appointment a month later and he’s doing just fine. Fred is now ready to find his forever home!
Here’s a note from Fred’s foster mom:
“Fred is a thoughtful and playful cat. Taking a bath? He will make sure you aren’t drowning! Sweeping the floor? He will chase the broom thinking it is an intruder! He is very affectionate cat, and given the opportunity he will smother you in snuggles. He also loves to play, chase laser pointers, and look outside. As much as he wants to be around you all of the time, he is also content sleeping literally anywhere – a desk, a box, a closet shelf, you name it! Overall Fred has been a joy to foster and is a very sweet cat who would love a person/family that can give him lots of snuggles and attention. When I first got Fred, he liked to play-bite and I have been able to train this out of him but sometimes he needs gentle reminders. I like to let people know this who are considering adoption especially if they have young children who may test these limits! It is also important to know that Fred is FIV positive, so this should be considered and thoroughly researched prior to adoption so that he can be live the longest and happiest life!”
