Tzatziki
* Tzatziki found her forever home with lovely people! Yay! *
Tzatziki was abandoned in an apartment and was not discovered for an extended period of time. Thankfully she survived and was brought to Hamilton Animal Services. HAS reached out to us for help, and we got Tzatziki out of the shelter and straight to the vet. She was quite thin and she had a bladder infection, likely caused by being left in a dirty cage for so long. Tzatziki was prescribed medication and she made herself comfy in her foster home, where she was provided a large bin cage with lots room to explore and dig. She was very happy to have full bowls of food and water, and daily veggie snacks. We have promised her that she will never have to know the stress of neglect and abandonment ever again.
At her follow up appointment, Tzatziki was given a clean bill of health and she’s now ready to find her forever home!
Despite everything she’s been through, Tzatziki is extremely friendly! She is comfortable with being handled, and she seeks out attention from her foster family. She’s a very active hamster. She will need a forever home where her people can provide her a large cage (see this video for cage suggestions), and who will have the time to allow her to run and explore outside of her cage. Plastic hamster balls are not recommended, but supervised time out of her cage with a small animal pen and some fun structures to explore and run around is a much better option.
