Blaster
* Darwin, Blaster and Juarez found their forever home together with awesome people! Yippee! *
Darwin, Juarez and Blaster were rescued from Lincoln County Humane Society. Darwin’s eye issue was beyond the shelter’s medical capacity, so they reached out to us for help.
We got Darwin, Blaster and Juarez out of the shelter and into a foster home where they could have a large living space together. The pigs were given a clean bill of health at their vet visit, other than Darwin’s eye. It was likely an old injury that healed badly, and the eye needed to be removed to prevent possible issues in the future. Darwin had the surgery and he was neutered at the same time. We had Blaster and Juarez neutered as well, and now that everyone is healed from surgery, Darwin, Juarez and Blaster are ready to find their forever home! We’re asking they be adopted together.
Darwin is the most personable of the trio. Despite his missing eye, Darwin is always the first to run over to greet whoever enters their room. He’s very curious and will lead the way for all the pig adventures. Blaster is more shy than Darwin, and Juarez is the shyest of the three. They aren’t fond of being picked up, but they don’t mind some ear scritches when all of their feet are safely on the ground.
They love their daily veggie snacks – their favourites being romaine lettuce, carrot, and kale. They have a very large living space in their foster home, and we’re asking they have the same (or larger) in their forever home.
This website shows how you can build your own cage for much less than pet store bought cages, and it gives the suggested dimensions for multiple pigs.
Darwin, Blaster and Juarez would be a good fit for an adult home, or a home with older children.
The pigs’ names are based on characters from the Disney film G-Force.

Guinea Pigs need space…
Guinea pigs need much more room than the typical pet store guinea pig cages offer. Here are some websites that have great examples of the type of cages pigs can live happily in, so that they have lots of room to move around and explore:
