Bumble
*Bumble and Badoo found their forever home with a lovely family! Yippee! *
Bumble was brought into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. No owner cam forward to claim him, and Hamilton Animal Services made him available for adoption. Shelter staff introduced Bumble to another guinea pig so they could be adopted as a pair, and things went well between the two pigs at first. But then one day, the other pig attacked Bumble. Bumble ended up with serious injuries to his face and had to be sent to the vet to be stitched up. HAS reached out to us to take Bumble in so he could get any further treatment he may have needed.
We sent Bumble to the vet to check the injury spot, and we had him neutered. Thankfully, Bumble didn’t need any further treatment for his injuries, and he recovered perfectly in his foster home.
A few days after Bumble’s arrival, Windsor Humane Society reached out to us for help with small animals, and we took in a single guinea pig named Badoo. Because guinea pigs do better in pairs or groups, we introduced Bumble to Badoo in hopes that they would get along. After slow and proper introductions, Bumble and Badoo are now friends, and they’re ready to find their forever home together! Yay!
Bumble is quite friendly, but Badoo is very shy and gets quite stressed when she is around people. She’s made lots of progress since coming into our care, and is now not as quick to run for it as soon as she sees people… especially when veggies are involved! She’s still pretty shy though, so we’re asking that Badoo and Bumble go to a home where there are no small children.
They both LOVE timothy hay, and will happily play in and much on a pile of hay all day.

Guinea Pigs need space…
Guinea pigs need much more room than the typical pet store guinea pig cages offer. Here are some websites that have great examples of the type of cages pigs can live happily in, so that they have lots of room to move around and explore:
