Badoo
*Bumble and Badoo found their forever home with a lovely family! Yippee! *
Windsor Humane Society reached out to us when they were overwhelmed with small animals. We were able to take in Badoo the guinea pig, Dolores the hamster, and Diesel the gerbil.
Badoo is a scardy-pig. Any small sound or movement makes her jump and run for cover. We’re not sure what her life was like before ending up at the shelter, but it seems she wasn’t handled very much, or she was handled roughly. Her foster family are doing their best to help her become more comfortable with humans.
She loves a fresh pile of timothy hay to burrow into and munch on. She’s also a fan of the fresh veggies and leafy greens she is offered.
Badoo was given a clean bill of health at her vet visit.
A few days before Badoo’s rescue, we rescued a pig named Bumble. We had Bumble neutered in hopes that we could eventually bond him s with a female pig because guinea pigs do better in pairs or groups. We introduced Bumble to Badoo in hopes that they would get along. After slow and proper introductions, Bumble and Badoo are now friends, and they’re ready to find their forever home together! Yay!
Bumble is quite friendly, but Badoo is very shy and gets quite stressed when she is around people. She’s made lots of progress since coming into our care, and is now not as quick to run for it as soon as she sees people… especially when veggies are involved! She’s still pretty shy though, so we’re asking that Badoo and Bumble go to a home where there are no small children.
They both LOVE timothy hay, and will happily play in and much on a pile of hay all day.

Guinea pigs need much more room than the typical pet store guinea pig cages offer. Here are some websites that have great examples of the type of cages pigs can live happily in, so that they have lots of room to move around and explore:
