Rain
* Rain found his forever home with lovely people! Congrats Rain! *
Someone abandoned seven baby rabbits on the doorstep of a vet clinic in Oakville. Oakville Humane Society was called and the bunnies were transferred to the shelter. OHS was already packed to the brim with rabbits, including a mom and her babies who had been abandoned in the exact same way earlier in the month. They reached out to us for help, and we were able to take four babies into our care. River, Rain, Rutabaga, and Radish are adorable bunnies, and very sweet.
The bunnies were given a clean bill of health at their vet visit, and we had them spayed and neutered. River, Radish and Rutabaga have all been adopted, but Rain is still waiting for his forever home.
Rain is very friendly and will happily come running to greet anyone he meets. He is free roaming in a spare room at his foster home, and can often be found binkying around the room. He is great with using the litter box, and timothy hay is kept in one corner of the box to encourage consistent litter box habits. Rain enjoys daily veggie snacks, and he loves to run and hop all around his room. Rain will be a great candidate for free range living in a rabbit proofed home.
Rain was living with his siblings until he began picking fights with them – in one instance causing injury to the sibling. He had to be separated from his siblings and we think he would be best as a solo bunny in his forever home. Not to say he might not take a liking to another bunny at all in the future, but he was definitely the aggressor with his siblings while they were together. He loves humans though! He’s a super friendly guy with his foster family.
* Rain has been vaccinated against Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease (RHDV).

Rabbits need lots of space…
Our fostered rabbits are housed in x-pens or similar enclosures so they have lots of room to move around when they aren’t out for floor time. Some of our rabbits are free range in their foster home.
Commercially made pet store rabbit cages are far too small to allow rabbits to stretch out and move around with ease. Here are some examples of great enclosures, and rooms set up for free roaming bunnies.
