* Peace and Love found their forever home with a lovely family, and a fantastic living space! Yay! *

Peace and Love were surrendered to a shelter in Quebec when their owners no longer wanted them. The shelter was already packed, so they reached out to us for help and we were more than happy to take Peace and Love into our care. They were given a clean bill of health at their vet visit, and DNA confirmed that they are both males.  Peace and Love are sweet and gentle souls, and they have lots to say! They coo and “laugh” all day. So sweet!
We are asking they be adopted as a pair.

If kept in a cage that is too small they will fight. So much so that they pluck out each other’s feathers and cause damage. A large aviary or a dedicated bird room would be best for them. They currently have free flight in a room that is about 10 feet by 6 feet, and they very much appreciate the space to fly around and perch in different spots. They still have the occasional squabble, but nothing too serious. We are hoping they can find a forever home where they will have the same amount of space or more.

It doesn’t seem as if these guys were handled a lot in their previous home. They’ll tolerate being picked up and handled, but they’re not thrilled about it. They may become better with this in a home where their family has the time to help them warm up to handling.

Peace and Love are fed a mixture of dove specific food and cockatiel mix. Their foster family have offered them different types of greens, but they haven’t shown much interest in them.

Most veterinarians do not see birds, so before adopting it is recommended to find an avian specialist vet in your area. While in our care, Peace and Love have gone to Burloak Animal Hospital in Oakville, where there are bird specialist vets on staff.
