* Melody and Harmony found their forever home together with a lovely family! Woo hoo! *

We rescued Treble, Alto, Melody and Harmony from a Quebec shelter where they arrived as “strays.” Along with these four, there were quite a number of other rats in the group. Seems like another case of an owner dumping their pets, which is happening far too frequently as of late.
Shelter staff weren’t able to determine family units because of the numbers, so the rats were just placed in cages as they were caught, and they did their best to separate males from females. When a foster home opened up, we were happy to get these four out of the shelter. Big thank you to Freedom Drivers Transport volunteers for getting the rats to us safely.
We were told we would be receiving two boys and two girls, but when they arrived, it was discovered that Alto was the only male. We had him neutered shortly after he arrived so he could stay with his “sister” Treble.
Everyone received a clean bill of health at the vet, and now the rats are available for adoption! Melody and Harmony are available as a pair, and Alto and Treble are available as a pair.

Melody and Harmony are active little girls. They are a bit shy, but they are very curious and don’t mind being picked up as long as it’s gently and slowly. They like to be petted and they’ll chase your hands and fingers in play. They love their hammocks and can usually be found snuggled together in them. Snack time is a good time. They enjoy all kinds of veggies and small bits of fruit. They also really like Cheerios.
Melody and Harmony will make lovely companions for just about any home.
