* After being in our care for more than a year, Gandalf and Roukie found their forever home with a lovely family! Yay! *

Gandalf and Roukie were surrendered to a Quebec shelter by their owner. We were happy to get these handsome boys out of the shelter when a foster home opened up. Big thank you to Freedom Drivers organizers and volunteers for getting the pigs to us safely all the way from Quebec.

Gandalf and Roukie were given a clean bill of health at the vet, they’ve been neutered, and now they’re ready to find their forever home!
These lovely pigs are very curious, and they love to explore during their time out of their enclosure. They stand way up on their tippy toes at the side of their enclosure when they know their daily veggie snacks are coming. They’ll also give you some gentle “wheek wheeks” until you hand over the greens. They love romaine lettuce, dandelion leaves and parsley.
Like most guinea pigs, they’re not interested in being picked up, and they will head straight for their hidey house if they are frightened. They are quite friendly though, and will allow petting if you’re slow and gentle with them. Gandalf’s long fur will require regular maintenance to keep it tangle free.
