Kringle
* Jingle and Kringle found their forever home together with wonderful people! Yay! *
Jingle and Kringle ended up at Hamilton Animal Services when their owner was no longer able to care for them. These poor guys were covered in fleas when they arrived and they weren’t in the best shape. Despite how they must have been feeling, Jingle and Kringle were very friendly rats.
During their time at HAS, Kringle somehow ended up with an injured tail, and he needed immediate medical attention. Shelter staff reached out to us for help, and we were able to arrange for the rats to go straight to the vet. The injury to Kringle’s tail required it to be partially amputated. Thankfully it was just a small amount that had to be removed and not the whole tail. We had Jingle and Kringle neutered while they were at the vet, and they recovered perfectly in their foster home. They’re now ready to find their forever home! We’re asking they be adopted as a pair.
Jingle and Kringle are very sweet, happy rats. They don’t mind being handled gently, and they have a lot of fun in their cage and outside of it when they get floor time. They’re active and curious boys, and they’d do well in a home where someone has time to interact with them and give them lots of time outside their cage. They’re currently in a double Critter Nation cage, and we’d like them to have the same size enclosure in their new home. They love hammocks, and they love to make nests with the strips of newspaper and fabric scraps they are provided. Some of their favourite snacks are strawberries, kale and bits of soda cracker.
Jingle and Kringle will make lovely companions for just about any home.
Please adopt Jingle and Kringle!
Ladybird recommends Critter Nation cages. They are hands down the most spacious, and best quality enclosure for small animals on the market. They come in single and double sizes, and can be modified and customized to create enrichment and provide comfort. Their design and solid manufacturing almost entirely eliminates the possibility of accidental escape. Critter Nation cages are available (or can be ordered) at most local pet supply stores.
Can’t adopt but want to help?
Monetary donations are always needed, but if you’d like to donate something specifically for the rats in our care, donations of rat food, small pet blankets (used for cage lining), rat hammocks and fleece liners for Critter Nation cages are very much appreciated!
