*Rupert has been adopted by his foster family! Woo hoo! *

Rupert and his guinea pig companion were “found” in Hamilton, and their finder brought them to a local pet supply store to get help. Unfortunately, Rupert’s companion passed away by the time Hamilton Animal Services was called to pick them up.

At the shelter, poor Rupert was terrified. Who knows what trauma he had gone through before being dumped, only then to go through the heartache of losing his friend, and then ending up all alone at a noisy shelter.

We were so happy that an experienced foster family stepped up to help Rupert, and we got him out of the shelter and to safety with them. He’s now living in a large, comfortable enclosure. Thankfully, Rupert did well shortly after his arrival – he was eating, exploring and allowing his foster family to gently pet him.

Rupert was given a clean bill of health at his vet visit and was neutered shortly after. Rupert’s foster family fell head over heels with him and they decided he should stay!
We’re so glad this sweet pig is safe and loved and will never be abandoned again.
