Poppet
Poppet came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. She had a wound on her nose, and was a bit thin, but she was otherwise okay. It’s likely Poppet was not a stray at all, but was dumped outdoors by her owner.
Poppet waited several months at the shelter, and we were finally able to take her in when a foster home opened up. She had become a staff favourite and they were sad to see her leave, but happy that she would be in a loving foster home. Big thank you to HAS staff for caring for Poppet for so long.
Poppet took a bit of time to adjust to being in a new environment, but she was friendly with everyone she met. Her spay surgery went very well, and now that she’s all healed, Poppet is ready to find her forever home!
Here’s a note from Poppet’s foster family:
“Poppet has had amazing growth since coming to us! She is now fully litter trained both in and out of her pen! When she is out exploring, she will not go far! She will not leave our couch or table that is nestled up to the couch— this is her favourite place to flop! She loves to have cardboard boxes to hang out in but she is also a fabulous designer and renovator adding numerous upgrades to her box homes— spacious doors and windows that really brighten up the space! She absolutely loves chewing, and nibbling cardboard and paper. She really enjoys toys that are food motivated and provide a lot of mental stimulation! Poppet will snuggle on your chest for as long as you will cuddle, love and scratch her! She is such a lovely little girl! She is great with kids and cats and is very inquisitive once she knows she is safe! Poppet is now comfortable with you taking her out of her pen, and stays in place and lets you pick her up! Don’t let the red eyes fool you, this girl is as sweet as pie!”
Please adopt Poppet!
