Sumac and Sycamore ended up at a shelter in the Niagara Region as strays. These guys are not really strays. It’s more likely their owner decided they didn’t want them any longer and abandoned them outdoors. Either way, we’re glad they were found and brought to a shelter where they were safe from the many dangers outside. The shelter was beyond capacity, so they asked us for help with these two sweet piggies. We were happy to welcome Sumac and Sycamore into our care. They got a clean bill of health at their vet visit, and now they’re ready to find their forever home together!
These guys are really sweet once they’re comfortable. They will stand tippy toe on their hind legs at the side of their enclosure in anticipation of the veggies or vitamin C treats they know are coming. They are in a 6 x 2 C&C cage, and they use every inch of that space to play, run, popcorn, chew their toys, and snooze. They’re not excited at all to be handled, but they’re getting better with time.
