Rio
* Rio and Morgan found their forever home together with lovely people! Woot! *
Rio and Morgan ended up at Hamilton Animal Services when their owner passed away. These poor kitties were very confused about what was happening to them, but shelter staff gave them lots of love to help them through the scary time. We were happy to get Rio and Morgan out of the shelter and into a foster home when one opened up.
They had a vet visit on their rescue day, and they are both in pretty good health for 8 year old cats. Rio has what looks like a healing ulcer in one of his eyes, so he’s been put on drops that we hope will help. Both cats needed their teeth cleaned and some extractions, and they healed up perfectly from their surgeries. This sweet pair are now ready for their forever home! Rio and Morgan need to be adopted as a pair.
Here’s a note from their foster home:
“Rio and Morgan were very scared and skittish when they first came to us, understandable given all the changes they were experiencing. They had dental surgery and a follow-up vet visit for some medication and different food to deal with some stress-related urinary problems. They’ve slowly warmed up and got more comfortable and are the sweetest and most gentle pair of kitties! They are both super purry and love pets and playing. Rio is more outgoing, he loves being brushed and chasing toys. One of his eyes is sometimes runny, the vet thinks this is related to a virus that can flare up. He’s on lysine treats to support immune system health. Morgan is a sweetie and loves pets and head skritches. They have both been really good with any meds they’ve needed. They are happy to play together or separately and sometimes snuggle up together when they sleep. They are on a urinary diet as the stress of change caused some bladder inflammation. The vet has suggested they stay on this until they get more settled. They are also on a weight loss program at the moment as they vet thought they were both slightly overweight. This sweet pair will make a great addition to someone’s family, they are such gentle souls!”
