Lots of great things happening!
In March we rescued King Tut from a ‘high kill’ shelter and placed him in foster care. He’s a big ol’ squishy lover boy who needs a forever home.
For the month of April, we have our “Eat a Sweet, Save a Bunny” campaign. In various locations around the Hamilton area, you’ll find donation boxes where you can drop in some change, and have a tasty treat!
The Ladybird Animal Sanctuary ladies have been interviewed by some wonderful people lately! We were interviewed by Mike Przysiezny for his blog “The Compassion Experiment.” Here’s the link to our interview, and please take a look at the rest of his blog. Some great insight and info there!
CTS television also featured us on their show “Always Good News.” They came to Hamilton Place for Melissa’s show with Sarah McLachlan to film it. That was a fun day. Here’s the episode.
We put a call out for help with a kitty named Kaya who was awaiting her fate at a “high kill” shelter. She has a condition called cerebellar-hypoplasia which makes her a little wobbly on her feet. We made this video, to which we received an overwhelming response. (Thank you to everybody who wrote to us!) The video led to Kaya being rescued from the shelter and taken in by a wonderful family!
It was on April 7th that we rescued Kaya, and six more cats from that same shelter. A mom and her three kittens were transferred to another shelter, put into foster care and will eventually be adopted out. We also rescued Kyle and Morris and placed them into a foster home where they are waiting to be adopted.
Here’s a short video of that wonderful day.
We’re still working on being granted our charitable status, (ugh…paperwork) so an extra big thank you to those of you who have donated to us even though we don’t have it yet. All of these animals need vet care and those costs can be very high. Your donations have made it possible for us to save the lives of these amazing animals, so a big thank you to you! Your donations go directly to the animals we take into our care.
Our sweet Slinky is still looking for his forever home…
Stayed tuned for more adventures, and thank you so much for your support!
