June Needs a Home!
We can’t wait for June to find a loving forever home. She has been through so much in such a short time. Ladybird rescued her from Animal Control after her owner passed away. It was later discovered at the vet that she was riddled with cancerous ovarian cysts. Now after undergoing surgery we are optimistic that this wonderful girl is cancer free. June’s foster mom has nothing but good things to say about this sweetie and we know that she would make a perfect addition to any family.
Gertie Finds a Loving Home
Sweet Gertie has not had an easy life, but this hasn’t stopped her from being the most gentle, affectionate and loyal dog. She was rescued from Animal Control and from the looks of it, she was most likely used for breeding by her previous owner. Gertie was breaking out in a skin rash when we first brought her to her foster home. A change of food quickly solved that issue, but soon after she had a seizure. Gertie was rushed to emergency, but all of her tests came back normal and she was released back into the care of her foster mom. After a couple of more seizures weeks later, Gertie was diagnosed with epilepsy and was put on medication. All these setbacks didn’t deter someone from adopting Gertie though, and she found her forever home with a lovely family. Many thanks to all of the generous folks who donated time and money for Gertie’s care; your outpouring for her welfare has been so incredible. We wish Gertie a long and happy life with her wonderful new family.
Teddy Thriving at His New Home
We love getting updates from the wonderful people who have adopted our Ladybird rescues. Teddy was in foster care for quite a while before he found his forever home, so it was rather bittersweet saying goodbye to him. We are lucky that such a wonderful woman took Teddy under her wing and we now get plenty of updates. This photo is of Teddy taking care of Timmi, who is a blind and deaf senior dog. Timmi gets very nervous when he is alone and Teddy has been right by his side, offering him a friendship filled with so much gentle love and support. We knew that Teddy had a heart of gold, but this photo shows what a truly special soul he is.
“Tedman has a gift…his soul. Here he is taking care of blind/deaf Timmi, 17 yrs. Timmi won’t rest (when awake) unless he’s in close proximity to a dog or a human. So beautiful to see these two together. Ted is so tender with Timmi.” – Teddy’s mom
A New Ladybird
Our very own Ladybird, Janine Stoll, has given birth to the most precious baby boy; Cohen Louis Stoll MacDougall. Lisa and Melissa were in the delivery room alongside her husband Paul, holding her hands through it all. We are so in awe of this little wonder and of the power and strength of Janine. Congratulations to this beautiful family. We love you guys! Click here to read Cohen’s birth story.
