We have sad news today. After winning his battle with Upper Respiratory Virus, our little Gilbert fought a very brave fight against a second unknown illness that saw him spending many days in a vet clinic hooked up to tubes and wires. His little body couldn’t handle whatever it was that was making him so sick and he eventually ended up unresponsive and in a coma. We spent many agonizing hours consulting with Gilbert’s foster mom and the vets at the clinic; it was decided that because there was no chance he would recover, he should be humanely euthanized. He will be sadly missed by his foster mom and everyone who met him. A fund bearing Gilbert’s name will be set up for future Ladybird animals who need critical veterinary care.
We’ll miss you little Gilbert…
