Lottie
* Lottie and Xena found their forever home together with wonderful people! Yay! * Lottie was found as a stray and brought to Hamilton Animal Services. She was in rough shape when she arrived. Respiratory issues, mangy fur, scabby skin, and she was having trouble eating and drinking. We sent Lottie to Dr. Stubbs at Spencer Creek Animal Hospital where she had a check up and had her teeth trimmed. She’s feeling much better now after spending some healing time in her foster home. After being in our care for a few months, we rescued another single rat named Xena. Because… read more >>
Piper
* Piper has been adopted by her foster family! Yay! * Piper was brought into Hamilton Animal Services after possibly being hit by a car. She was not walking or moving around, so HAS staff knew she had a serious injury. Xrays showed that Piper had a broken pelvis. HAS staff reached out to us for help, and we were happy to get this sweet girl out of the shelter and into the vet for cage rest and pain medication. Piper did some cage rest time at the vet, and then she was transferred to her foster home. She did… read more >>
Pocus
* Hocus and Pocus have been adopted by wonderful people! * Hocus and Pocus ended up at Hamilton Animal Services when their owner passed away. Thankfully, we had a foster home standing by who were waiting to foster ferrets, so we were able to spring H & P out of the shelter. These two are highly entertaining little guys! So fun to watch them interact with each other and get into trouble together. Hocus and Pocus had a vet visit and they were given a clean bill of health. They’re now ready to find their forever home! Here’s a note from… read more >>

Mama Darcy
* Mama Darcy found her forever home with lovely people! * Mama Darcy and her kittens Tucker and Peewee (as well as many other animals) were surrendered to Hamilton Animal Services by their owner because they could no longer care for them. Mama Darcy had a very serious case of stomatitis that was causing her a lot of pain. We had her spayed and got her the dental surgery she so desperately needed. All but four teeth were removed, and she’s feeling so much better. Mama Darcy healed perfectly in her foster home, and now she’s ready to find her forever home!… read more >>
Barney
* Fred and Barney found their forever home together with an awesome person! * Fred and Barney came to us all the way from a shelter in Quebec. Big thank you to the One Last Chance Rescue group and the Freedom Drivers Animal Rescue Transport volunteers for getting Fred and Barney to us safely. Fred and Barney are super cute little guys. When they arrived, they looked a bit worse for wear. Not sure what kind of care they received before ending up at the shelter, but after some love from their foster mom and a check-up at the vet,… read more >>

Howard
* Howard found his forever home with awesome people! * Howard came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray, and no owner came forward to claim him. Howard is one of the friendliest cats we’ve ever rescued. He purrs and drools (so cute!) and has a happy head bonk for everyone he meets. Nothing seems to get this boy down! At his vet visit, x-rays showed that Howard has two damaged vertebra, which cause a funny gait. This was likely a historical injury that healed over time. Our vets advised that the vertebra are not causing Howard any pain, and… read more >>
Tilly
* Tilly has been adopted by her foster mom! Yay! * Tilly arrived at Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. She spent an extended amount of time at the shelter, but no owner came forward for her. When a foster home opened up, we were happy to spring this sweet girl from the shelter and get her in for a vet visit. Tilly seems relatively healthy, other than needing a good dental cleaning and a few extractions. Our vets are running a blood test to be sure Tilly is healthy on the inside, and we should have the results soon…. read more >>

Shyla
* Shyla found her forever home with a lovely person! * Shyla came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. She was so shy, she would hardly move, and stayed flat as she could against the cage floor. At the vet visit on her rescue day, the vet found a spay scar, and he also found a small a lump under Shyla’s left front leg. Shyla had her cyst removal surgery a short time later, and she did great. The cyst was sent… read more >>

Posty
August 27th, 2019 This type of neglect is unimaginable to most of us. We all wonder how anyone could possibly leave a dog to suffer like this. This is YEARS of neglect. And then to abandon the dog in such a cowardly way…there really are no words. It’s very difficult not to be angry. But, here we are again. Shocked, heartbroken, sad, horrified, frustrated, and angry. But thankfully, this is where the journey of healing begins… Hamilton Animal Services received a call from Hamilton Police Services, at approximately 1:30am on the 24th of August. Someone had called the police in… read more >>
Amy
Our sweet Amy has crossed the rainbow bridge. During Amy’s last week she declined so quickly and we learned that the cancer had spread all through Amy’s lungs and it was making it hard for Amy to breathe. There was nothing that could be done and because Amy had lost her sparkle and was in a noticeable amount of discomfort we decided that as hard as it was, it was the best thing for Amy to say goodbye. Amy was with me and the amazing and loving staff at the Animal Hospital of Stoney Creek as she crossed the rainbow… read more >>
