Tegan
* Tegan and Sara found their forever home with their foster home! Yay! * Tegan and Sara were brought into Hamilton Animal Services as strays. Because of an issue with Tegan’s foot, HAS reached out to us for help, and we were happy to take the sweet bunnies in when a foster home opened up. Tegan and Sara had a vet visit on their rescue day, and medication was prescribed for Tegan’s foot. Hopefully now that she’s out of a small cage in a busy shelter and in a quiet foster home with lots of space, her foot will have… read more >>
Mildred
* Milton and Mildred found their forever home together with amazing people! * Milton and Mildred came into Hamilton Animal Services as strays. They certainly belonged to someone before they ended up at the shelter because they have both been fixed…but no owner came forward to claim them. These two are very shy, especially Mildred. But they both warm up with gentle pats and soft words. They did great at the vet for their check up, and other than needing a good brushing, they were both given a clean bill of health. Milton and Mildred settled in at their foster… read more >>

Thomas
* Thomas found his forever home with amazing people and another dog to be friends with! Yay! * We rescued Thomas from Hamilton Animal Services. Thomas was surrendered to HAS because of allergies in the family. This poor boy had the runs and a serious urinary infection when he arrived at the shelter. He was also suffering from soft palate issues, and his breathing was very laboured/noisy. Anytime Thomas would get excited or did any kind of exercise he had difficulty breathing. This is a condition called brachycephalic airway syndrome, and it is very common in French Bulldogs and other… read more >>
Karen
*Karen and Felicia found their forever home with awesome people! * Felicia and Karen came into Toronto Animal Services as strays. They’re young pigs, so it’s possible someone acquired them from a pet store, realized that guinea pigs are a lot of work, and quickly abandoned them outdoors. Thankfully they were brought to safety before any harm could come to them. TAS had Felicia and Karen spayed (as they do all their guinea pigs) and they reached out to us for help when they continued to receive more guinea pigs than they had room for. We were happy to take… read more >>

Channing
* Channing found his forever home with awesome people! * Channing was found as a stray and brought to Hamilton Animal Services. He had a severely injured lip, ear, and some minor injuries on his feet. Even though he must have been scared and in pain, Channing was still a sweet boy with shelter staff. We rescued Channing and took him straight to the vet where he was neutered and his lip and ear were stitched up. He was then transferred to his foster home where he had some time to heal and make friends with the dog there. At… read more >>
Asana
* Rest in peace Asana. We were hoping for a happy ending for you, but inside your funny little body were too many issues we couldn’t fix, and that would not allow you to have a good quality life. We’re so sorry. We will never forget you. * Asana was found as a stray in Hamilton and brought to Hamilton Animal Services. As you can see, her back leg is pretty wonky! We’re not sure if it was a birth defect, or if the leg was broken and healed like this, but it doesn’t seem to bother her. She… read more >>

We had Tucker and Peewee neutered, and they did great for their surgeries. Peewee and Tucker are very bonded, so we asked they be adopted as a pair. Austin
Austin came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. He was not putting any weight on his back leg, but was still a friendly boy with shelter staff. We rescued Austin from HAS and took him straight to the vet. Our vets did a thorough exam and xrays of Austin’s leg, and it turned out to be an old break that had healed. The break likely happened when Austin was a kitten. Austin wasn’t in any pain, and had complete mobility, aside from a bit of a limp. Our vets neutered Austin and he was transferred to his foster home…. read more >>
Beans
Shortly after Beans was diagnosed with liver and gallbladder cancer, he passed away suddenly in his foster home. Our hearts go out to Beans’ foster family. Even though he was only with them a short time, they were very attached to him. Rest in peace Beans. We’re heartbroken the cancer was so far advanced that we couldn’t help you, but we’re glad you passed in the arms of people who loved you…
Mona

Angela, Samantha and Mona are happy little birds. They make their sweet beep sounds and hop around their cage together. Finches are social birds, so… read more >>
