* Baloo has been adopted by his foster family! Woo hoo! * We rescued Baloo from Hamilton Animal Services. He was found as a “stray” which means he was likely dumped outdoors by his owners because they no longer wanted him. Geisha
* Geisha found her forever home with a wonderful person! * We rescued Geisha from Hamilton Animal Services. Geisha had been surrendered to the shelter by her owner because of her behaviour. Let’s just say Geisha has some “quirks.” She doesn’t seem to understand how to dog. While at the shelter, she gave off mixed signals about how she was feeling…mostly in the form of growling. It may be that she was scolded for growling in her previous home and now feels the need to growl because she’s upset for being told not to growl? We’ll never know for sure…. read more >>
Gilda
* Gilda and Agnes found their forever home together with a wonderful family! Yay! * Someone put four guinea pigs in a box, and then left the box behind a school in Hamilton. It’s not known how long the pigs were alone there after they were abandoned, but as you can see in the photos, the box had quite a lot of pig poop in it. Thankfully, someone found the box and called Hamilton Animal Services. Agnes

Khaleesi
* Khaleesi found her forever home with a lovely person! Woo hoo! * Khaleesi came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray and was not claimed by her owner. This pretty girl is missing her tail. Not sure if she was born that way or she lost it in an accident of some kind, but she certainly doesn’t seem to miss it! We had Khaleesi spayed and she had a dental cleaning, and she found her forever home shortly after!
Cora
* Cora found her forever home with an amazing family! * Cora came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray and was never claimed by her owner. When she arrived at HAS, poor Cora was infested with fleas, her nails were severely overgrown, and she was so matted that the mats were literally pulling the fur off of her skin. She desperately needed dental surgery, needed to be spayed, and she had skin issues beyond the terrible matting. June
June had been with us for many months before being diagnosed with pancreatitis . A few months later, she had surgery to remove a large tumour from her pancreas. Though she showed some improvement after the surgery, her health began to decline again a few weeks later. At her last vet visit, another large mass was found in June’s abdomen. Surgery was not feasible and there were no other treatment options that would help. June was suffering, and that was the last thing we wanted. Benedict
* Benedict found his forever home with amazing people! * Benedict came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. He had a severe ear mite infestation, he was covered in fleas, and he had a very large wound on the side of his face. Animal Services staff sent Benedict directly to the vet for treatment for the wound, and he was then returned to the shelter to wait out his stray time. Minerva
* Minerva found a forever home with lovely people! * Minerva ended up at Hamilton Animal Services when her owner was hospitalized long term. When she arrived at HAS, Minerva had fleas, a severe earmite infestation, and her teeth were in bad shape. Her front left foot is deformed, (the foot kinda tucks into the top of the leg) but it doesn’t slow her down at all. Minerva is a sweet, sweet cat. Lots of purring and bonking from this girl! Petunia
We had to let our sweet Petunia go. She had been doing great until a few days ago when she stopped eating and just wasn’t her normal, happy self. Tests at the vet showed that her kidneys were failing. The vet sent Petunia home with medications to help with nausea, and keep her comfortable. Not too much later, it was clear that Petunia was nearing the end, and we had to let her go.
