Elliot
We’re so sad to report that we had to let little Elliot go. Here’s a note from his foster mom: “Bad news today. My sweet little Elliot passed away. His vets did everything they could for him but he has been getting sicker and he was starting to suffer. I could see that he was so tired. Today we made the decision to end his suffering. I was there with him and although it was hard I was so grateful to have him snuggle into my arms one last time. This will be difficult for Zelda and Ezra so I’m… read more >>
Fitz
* Fitz and Hemingway found their forever home with a lovely person! * We rescued Zelda, Fitz, Hemingway, Elliot and Ezra from Hamilton Animal Services. Zelda was found pregnant and dumped in a conservation area. She was brought to HAS, and on March 30th, she gave birth to three healthy babies! She was very frightened at the shelter, so a very kind staff member took her home temporarily to alleviate her stress and so she could look after her babies in peace. Shortly after, an orphaned kitten of similar age to Zelda’s kittens showed up at HAS. The staff member… read more >>
Jordy
June 21 Our hearts are broken. We had to let our sweet Jordy go. Jordy had been back and forth to the vet so many times, we lost count. We were trying to get her the adrenal tumour surgery she needed, but each time her foster mom got her to the clinic, there was always a reason she couldn’t have the surgery. Mostly because her blood pressure was too high. So, each time, she was sent back to her foster home with another prescription of blood pressure pills in hopes that they would help. The night before last, Jordy started… read more >>

Lily
* Lily found her forever home with lovely people, and another kitty to be friends with! * Four newborn kittens were brought into Hamilton Animal Services by a concerned citizen who had noticed that their mother had not returned for them after giving birth outdoors. Unfortunately, one of the grey kittens passed away suddenly of unknown causes on April 19th. There was nothing anyone could have done to save the kitten. Sometimes kittens who aren’t raised with… read more >>

Kitten
Four newborn kittens were brought into Hamilton Animal Services by a concerned citizen who had noticed that their mother had not returned for them after giving birth outdoors. We placed them with a very experienced “bottle feeder” foster home, and they were growing and doing well for the first few weeks they were in our care. On April 19th, one of the kittens passed away suddenly, with no warning. She had eaten and had been active, and she was gone a few hours later. This is a sad reality for some kittens who are hand-raised. There was nothing anyone could… read more >>

He’s ready to start the search for his forever home! Nacho will need a forever home with someone with rat experience who is prepared to deal with his occasional nippy nature, and someone who understands that he is not a rat who wants to cuddle. Boris
* Boris found his forever home with lovely people! * Boris arrived at Hamilton Animal Services with a large wound on his head. He was suffering from entropion (an eye issue) and he very much needed to be neutered. Notice the “big ol’ tom cat” giant head and cheeks! So adorable! We rescued Boris and took him to Guelph Animal Hospital for treatment. Boris was neutered and his eye issues corrected, thanks to Dr. Fleming at the clinic. Boris tested positive for FIV, but he’s doing okay. He has a bit of medication left over from his vet visit for… read more >>

Ruby does need to lose a few pounds though! It only took a couple of days for Ruby’s foster family to fall madly in love with her and decide she… read more >>

We placed Bilbo in a foster home with leopard gecko experience. Bilbo had a check-up at the vet, and other than being a little on the thin side, he’s pretty healthy! The vet confirmed that Bilbo is… read more >>
