Moe
* Curly and Moe found their forever home with lovely people! * Curly, Larry and Moe were surrendered to Hamilton Animal Control by their owner because they didn’t have time for them. These little gerbils are so cute and sweet! They absolutely love their exercise wheels and they’re so fun to watch while they play together and explore their cage. Curly, Larry and Moe had a check-up at the vet and got a clean bill of health. Sadly, after several months in foster care, Larry became suddenly ill and had to be humanely euthanized. Our vets were not sure what the cause of… read more >>
Larry
– October 4th, 2018 – Sadly, Larry became suddenly ill in his foster home and had to be humanely euthanized. Our vets were not sure what the cause of his illness was, but he was already too far gone to be saved. We’re sorry Larry didn’t get a chance to find a forever home, but we’re thankful that his foster mom could give him loads of love for his time with us. Rest in peace wee Larry! We’ll always remember your sweet face. Curly, Larry and Moe were surrendered to Hamilton Animal Control by their owner because they didn’t… read more >>

Hawkeye
* Hawkeye found his forever home with lovely people! * Hawkeye ended up at Hamilton Animal Control when his owner passed away. No one is sure how long the owner was deceased in the house before being discovered, but when HAC officers showed up to collect Hawkeye, he was having trouble perching, and was clearly not doing well. When officers offered him water, he drank and drank and drank. Clearly, he had not had any food or water for some time. The only info next of kin could offer about Hawkeye, was his name, and that he was about 40 years old. The… read more >>
Lina
* Lina found her forever home with lovely people! Yay Lina! * Lina was brought into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. She’s the tiniest, cutest little dog we’ve ever seen! Such a sweet wee thing. Lina had some pretty rotten teeth, and she was suffering from a bladder infection that HAC staff put her on medication for. On her rescue day, we took Lina to the vet for a check-up. We’d like to thank Dr. Wimmers at Limestone Valley Animal Hospital for fitting Lina in for an appointment. Dr. Wimmers gave Lina some more medication for her infection and… read more >>
Picasso
* Picasso found his forever home with lovely people! * Picasso arrived at Hamilton Animal Control, suffering from a severe upper respiratory virus. Poor guy was so sick! HAC staff started him on medication, and they had to force feed him for a few days because he wasn’t eating. Thankfully, he pulled through the worst of his illness and started to feel better. We were happy to spring Picasso from the shelter when a foster home opened up. Picasso is a very sweet and active kitty. Despite not feeling the greatest, he still had a happy hello and a loud… read more >>
Moses
* Moses found his forever home with one of the lovely staff members of Guelph Animal Hospital! Yay! * Moses ended up at Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. He was suffering from entropion; a condition in which a portion of the eyelid is inverted or folded inward against the eyeball. This condition can be painful and uncomfortable, so shelter staff started Moses on eye drops and pain medication. We made an appointment with Dr. Fleming at Guelph Animal Hospital to get Moses the surgery he needed to repair his eyes. Unfortunately, while still at HAC, Moses had come down… read more >>
Angel Cake
* Angel Cake found her forever home with her foster family! Yay! * Oakville and Milton Humane Society rescued 15 cats from a home where the owner had not lived for about 8 months. The owner was in the hospital, and a family member was living in the home and caring for the cats. Sadly, that family member had health issues of his own, and he passed away suddenly. Another family member reached out to OMHS as the original owner was not going to be returning to the home. All of the cats are about 10-15 years old, and they… read more >>
Chester
We’re devastated to report that we lost our sweet Chester. Chester came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. When he was found, he was in pretty rough shape. His fur was matted and dirty, and he was coughing and sneezing. Poor guy was not feeling great at all. We rescued Chester from HAC and took him to the vet. Xrays showed a pretty bad chest infection, so Chester was put on medication to clear it up. It took a few different medications and just as many vet visits for Chester to finally be healthy enough to have surgery to… read more >>

Greta
* Greta found her forever home with wonderful people! * Greta came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. She was very scared and stressed by everything happening to her, and HAC staff thought her to be semi-feral. One HAC staff member named Kim, could see Greta’s potential though, and worked with her every day to get her to come out of her shell. Two months of gentle handling and gaining Greta’s trust did wonders! Greta became a sweet and snuggly girl, whose purr never shut off. We’re thankful for Kim’s commitment and dedication to Greta. Henderson
Henderson has been adopted by Dr. Martin of Animal Hospital of Stoney Creek. Yay! Henderson was found outside on the street, alone and limping. A concerned citizen called Hamilton Animal Control. Officers came to pick Henderson up and they brought him to one of the vet clinics they work with. Turns out, Henderson has a severely broken back leg. The vets thought by the looks of the bone that the break was old. Poor Henderson had been living in severe pain for quite a while. We transferred Henderson to our vets and they had the same thoughts about it… read more >>
