Eloise
* Eloise has been adopted by her foster home! Yay! * Back in May, Eloise came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. About a month into her stay at HAC, Eloise had to be rushed to the vet as she was suffering from what was thought to be pyometra (an infection of the uterus), but it turned out, Eloise was pregnant and was having trouble giving birth. Mister Purrison and Duke of Purr have been adopted together! Yay! Duke of Purr, Mister Purrison and four other kittens were found as strays and brought into Hamilton Animal Control. We weren’t planning on rescuing these guys, but when we were at the shelter to rescue Eloise, we took one look at them in their cage and knew we couldn’t leave without these little darlings! Willow
* Waffles and Willow have been adopted by their foster home! Yay! * Waffles, Willow and 8 other rabbits were surrendered to Toronto Animal Services by their owner. TAS reached out to a number of rescue organizations for help, and when a foster home opened up, we were happy to take in this sweet pair. Waffles and Willow have been fixed (thank you TAS!) and they’re now ready to find their forever home! Willow can often be found nestled into Waffles’ fur and they’re very bonded, so they must be adopted as a pair. Here’s a report from their foster… read more >>

Mouse
* Mouse found her forever home with her foster family! * Mouse came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. She was riddled with fleas, one of her eyes was crusted shut, and she was rail thin. Poor little girl was not having a good time at all! HAC staff put her on medication for her eye and she was given a flea treatment, which made her feel a bit better. Tank
* Tank found his forever home with an awesome person! Yay! * Meet Tank Cat! He’s gigantic and awesome! All 25 pounds of him! Sweet Tank came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. Not sure how a cat as big as Tank ends up on the streets…especially since he doesn’t want to take more than a few steps before he lays down for a rest…but we digress. Jon Snow
* Jon Snow’s foster mom decided she couldn’t let him go, so she officially adopted him! Yay for Jon Snow! * Jon Snow came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. This poor guy was in pretty rough shape when he arrived. He was very thin and his fur was in terrible condition. During the two months he spent at HAC, he put on weight and his fur regained its softness and shine. * Leo found his forever home with a lovely person, and another pig to be friends with! * Leo was surrendered to a shelter in Quebec by his owners because they didn’t have time for him. We’d like to send a big thank you out to the volunteers of Freedom Drivers Animal Rescue Transports for getting Leo to us safe and sound all the way from Quebec! Leo has had some digestive issues since his arrival. He’ll go many days with normal poop, then have mushy poop. He’s had several vet visits to try to sort out the issue, but our… read more >>

Yay! * Ozzie was surrendered to a shelter in Quebec by his owners because he wasn’t getting along with the other male guinea pigs in the home. Conan
* Conan found his forever home with lovely people! * Conan (O’Kitten) came into Hamilton Animal Control all by himself as a stray. Poor little guy was so scared and alone! During his first few days at the shelter, Conan had the runs pretty severely. Who knows what this wee waif was eating while he was out on the streets that upset his tummy so badly. HAC staff dewormed Conan and ran a fecal test, but no parasites were found. As the days went on, Conan’s poops were more formed and he seemed to be feeling better. We rescued Conan… read more >>

* Maryland and Miami found their forever home with lovely people! * We rescued Memphis, Maryland and Miami from Hamilton Animal Control where they found themselves as strays. While these girls were still on the streets, they had contracted an intestinal parasite called coccidia, which causes severe diarrhea, and can eventually cause organ damage if gone untreated. Thankfully, HAC staff caught the issue in time and treated the kittens with medication. When the kittens were feeling better we were happy to rescue them. They had a vet visit before heading to their foster home, and the vet was very… read more >>
