Nutella was brought into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. Nutella was in very rough shape when he arrived at HAC. He was extremely thin, suffering from eye infections, had a large abscess under his chin and several broken teeth. Nutella was taken straight to the vet where the abscess was treated, and two severely broken teeth were removed under sedation. Our vets put him on medications to help with the infection and pain. Several weeks later, he had a surgery to debride some of the abscesses inside his mouth and remove more of the broken teeth. He seemed to… read more >>

Stormy
Stormy came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. Stormy has been neutered and declawed (all four paws), so he certainly belonged to someone, but nobody came looking for him at the shelter. Stormy was severely matted and infested with fleas. His skin was red and raw from scratching. He seemed to be experiencing pain in his eyes. He was squinting, and there was an obvious ulcer in one eye. Staff at the shelter started him on eye medication to try to help. Once Stormy’s stray time was done, we were happy to get him out of the shelter and… read more >>

Shelter staff did some tests but didn’t find any parasites, so they put her on a food to help with intestinal upset. It worked for a few days, but then the problem returned. Thankfully, we had… read more >>
Jefferson
* Jefferson and Grace found their forever home with a lovely family! * Jefferson was surrendered to Hamilton Animal Control by his owners because they had “no time” for him. Sadly, it seems he had not been properly fed in his previous home as he was emaciated and skeletal thin at the time of his surrender. As well, his nails were overgrown and the fur on his hind end was matted and severely urine stained. Despite his condition, Jefferson was extremely friendly with everyone he met and was always happy for attention and head pats. During the couple of weeks… read more >>
