Nurf

* Pog and Nurf found their forever home together with a wonderful person! Yay! * Molly, Nurf, and Pog were found under a porch and brought to Hamilton Animal Services. We were happy to get these sweethearts out of the shelter and into the safety of a foster home. They are the siblings of Aristotle, Socrates, and Plato. The kittens did great in their foster home, and when they were big enough, we had them fixed. They’re now healed up and ready to find their forever homes! We are asking them to be adopted in pairs or as a trio…   read more >>

Tammy

Tammy rescue day

We are sad to report that Tammy lost her fight, only four days after coming into our care. Despite supplemental feeding, medical treatment and around the clock care, Tammy, Tony, and Tiffany passed away one by one during the night. It’s suspected they had panleukopenia, but test results haven’t yet come back to confirm that. We are heartbroken. Thankfully, mama Tina’s health is improving and her diarrhea has mostly subsided. She’ll need a few more days at the vet before she can be moved to a foster home. We want to extend a huge thank you to Dr. Stubbs and…   read more >>

Ethel

Ethel

* Ethel found her forever home with a lovely person! Yay! * Ethel was surrendered to Hamilton Animal Services when her owner could no longer look after her. Poor Ethel was very frightened in the shelter, but staff did their best to make her feel comfortable during her stay. We were happy to get Ethel out of the shelter and into a foster home when one became available. She’s a shy girl, but has been slowly warming up to her foster mom. Ethel had a much needed dental cleaning, and she had a couple of small warts removed from her…   read more >>

Cauliflower

Cauliflower

Calla ended up at Hamilton Animal Services as a stray, but nobody came forward to claim her. She spent a few months at the shelter, and during that time she was spayed and vaccinated. When a spot opened up, were were happy to get Calla out of the small cage she was in at the shelter, and into a foster home where she has a lot more room to run and explore. She’s loving all the freedom she has now, and she’s lapping up the attention she’s getting from her foster mom. A month after we rescued Calla, we rescued…   read more >>

When a foster home opened up, we were happy to take in these two girls, and we’re thankful to Freedom Drivers volunteers for getting them to us safely. When they arrived, Dandelion had several lumps that needed to be removed and Daffodil was extremely thin. They were very frightened, but were eating, drinking and…   read more >>

Moe

Moe - photo by Luca Simpson

* Moe found his forever home with wonderful people and another bunny to be friends with! Woo hoo! * During a severe cold snap in December of 2022, someone abandoned Moe outdoors. Thankfully, a kind person was able to capture Moe and bring him to warmth and safety at Hamilton Animal Services. This poor rabbit was covered in fleas, and he wasn’t in great shape. There’s no way to know how long he was living outdoors on his own, but we do know he’s one of the lucky ones who survived. During the months Moe spent at HAS, he was…   read more >>

Hannah

Hannah @ vet

Hannah was surrendered to Hamilton Animal Services when her owner could no longer care for her. At six years old, Hannah is a senior, as far as guinea pigs go. She’s a lovely little pig, but because of some issues she had while she was at the shelter, staff reached out to us for help. When she arrived at the shelter, Hannah had urine scalding on her hind end and feet, and she was having issues with her urine. We took Hannah directly to the vet where an xray showed that she was suffering from bladder sludge. Bladder sludge is a…   read more >>

Bobby

Bobby

Rossa and Bobby were rescued from Hamilton Animal Services after they were found as “strays.” Bobby is blind, Rossa has a bladder issue, and they both desperately need dental surgeries. They also both have a few lumps and bumps that need to be removed. We got Bobby and Rossa out of the shelter and into a foster home where they’re doing great so far. At their initial vet visit, it was discovered that Bobby has a thyroid issue, so he’s been started on mediation for that, and he’s now on multiple medical drops for dry eye. Blood and urine tests were…   read more >>

Lord Nigel Featherstone

Lord Nigel Featherstone (Nigel for short) was found as a stray and brought to Hamilton Animal Services. This poor bird was in terrible shape. He had several wounds all over his body, he was missing feathers, he was extremely thin, and his nails and beak were overgrown. He wouldn’t perch in his cage at the shelter and would only sit at the bottom of the cage. We’ll never know what trauma poor Nigel had been through, but it must have been so frightening for him. We got Nigel to the vet on his rescue day, and got him started on…   read more >>

Frankie

Frankie

* Frankie has been adopted by her amazing foster family! Woo hoo! * Frankie came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. Shelter staff noticed right away that Frankie seemed to have limited vision. It wasn’t clear why she couldn’t see, but she did bump into things when walking around, and she felt much safer in a human’s arms than on the ground. Frankie is certainly a sweet and snuggly girl. We were happy to get Frankie out of the shelter when a foster home opened up. She had several vet visits during her time with us. She was vaccinated,…   read more >>
