Pepe
We rescued Pepe and his brothers from a high-volume shelter in Quebec. They are sweet and gentle boys who love each other very much. They also like people, and are easily handled. We would like these siblings to be adopted in pairs or as trios. We recommend Critter Nation cages, or a similar cage set up for rats. These cages give rats a large amount of space to move around and explore. Pepe found his forever home together with his brother Martin! Yay!

Dottie
We rescued Dottie from Hamilton Animal Control where she found herself as a stray. Dottie has the most unusual markings! We love her moustache/beard combination. So unique! Dottie is a bit shy at first, but she warms up pretty quickly. Dottie is still getting used to the other cats on her foster home, but her foster mom thinks she would likely be okay with another cat in the home if properly introduced. Here’s a personality report from Dottie’s foster home: “Dottie is such a sweetheart. Once she’s done with playtime, she loves to get her head scratched and whiskers rubbed. She… read more >>

Gouda
We rescued Motzy and Gouda from a high-kill shelter in Quebec. Big thanks to the Freedom Drivers volunteers for transporting the rats to us! At their vet visit, it was discovered that Motzy and Gouda had lice, so they were treated with a topical flea treatment that cleared them up. After a short time in their foster home, it was noticed that Gouda was picking on Motzy quite a lot. Because Motzy is much older than Gouda and is in frail health, our vets recommended separating them. Gouda is doing just fine on his own, and he’s now ready to… read more >>
Motzy
We rescued Motzy and Gouda from a high-kill shelter in Quebec. Big thanks to the Freedom Drivers volunteers for transporting the rats to us! At their vet visit, it was discovered that Motzy and Gouda had lice, so they were treated with a topical flea treatment that cleared them up. Motzy is thin and had a small lump on his belly, so he was put on medication. Though it helped him feel a bit better, it became obvious to his foster mom that Motzy was much older than we first suspected, and was showing the signs of being a senior… read more >>
Mia
We rescued Mia from Hamilton Animal Control. Her owners surrendered her to HAC because she was “too old” and was occasionally pooping outside her litter box. Mia is just the sweetest kitty! She loves everyone she meets and always has something to say. She seems much younger than her 18 years. Mia had a check up and blood work done and everything was perfect! Mia already had a potential adopter waiting for her, so she has now gone to her forever home! Yay Mia!
Abby
We rescued Abby from Hamilton Animal Control where she was surrendered by her owners. Abby is a sweet and happy little girl, but like a lot of small dogs, she sometimes doesn’t like to be told what to do. She nipped her owners when being scolded, and she ended up at HAC because of it. When we heard the circumstances surrounding the situation, and met Abby in person, we were confident that with some work with a trainer in her foster home, she could still be a wonderful companion for the right people. She definitely adores everyone she meets! At… read more >>

We rescued Clover from a high-volume shelter in the Montreal area. Big thank you to the volunteer transport drivers for getting Clover to Hamilton so she could start her new life! Clover is a high-energy bunny. She will need a living space that provides her a lot of room. Clover’s foster mom introduced Clover to another rabbit, but Clover was too aggressive with the other bunny, even after proper introductions and several attempts over time.
