Sponsor a Rescue
Ladybird would like to invite you and
your group to sponsor a rescue!
This program is specifically designed for office outreach committees, community groups, school groups and families who would like to do something very special for an animal in need. Due to the fact that Ladybird often rescues senior animals or animals with specific medical needs, the cost of a rescue averages out to approximately $500 per animal. This money helps to provide veterinary care, medicine, as well as food and supplies while the animal is in Ladybird foster care awaiting their forever home.
You can champion a Ladybird rescue
by rallying support to raise $500.
As a group, you can work together to raise enough funds to sponsor a Ladybird rescue. Once your donation is received, Ladybird will plan the rescue of an animal in need on your group’s behalf. Your group will be credited with sponsoring the rescue on the animal’s adoption profile. You will also be given the opportunity to name the animal in the event that an animal comes into our care without already having a name (*certain naming restrictions may apply).
Ladybird’s mandate is to rescue animals from high-kill shelters which is most often the last stop for an abandoned or homeless animal. Our job is to give these animals a second chance at the best life possible and allow them to live out their days in a happy and healthy environment. At this time, Ladybird does not take in owned or stray animals.
Promoting Your Campaign
Ladybird has several tools at hand to help you promote your campaign, whether they be signage or flyers. If your group plans to run a campaign to sponsor a rescue, please get in touch and let us know so we can help to make your campaign a success!
Charitable Tax Receipting for Groups
Donations for sponsoring a rescue will qualify for a charitable tax receipt(s). However, it’s a good idea to decide who will benefit from the charitable tax receipt before you begin your fundraising efforts. Will it be a registered group, or a company, or an individual?
Please note: An individual should not typically claim benefit for the full donation amount if they’ve collected other people’s donations.
If your group assigns someone to keep track of individual donations, then each person who donates can receive their own tax receipt. Someone who donates $20 or more will be eligible for a tax receipt from Ladybird; we just need to be provided with the person’s full legal name, their mailing address and phone number in order to issue a charitable tax receipt.
