Morgan
Margot and Morgan found their forever home together! Yay!
Mama Margot came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. On February 17th, which was shortly after her arrival, Margot gave birth to five babies. Unfortunately, two of the babies passed away shortly after being born.
We were happy to rescue Margot and her remaining babies Marcel, Madison, and Morgan when a spot opened up.
Margot did a great job raising her babies, despite the fact she gave birth to a second litter on March 20th, while Morgan, Marcel and Madison were just over a month old. (!!) Turns out she wasn’t separated from the male rabbit she came into HAS with, and she got pregnant right after giving birth the first time. The second litter is Minty, Miso and Muesli.
Marcel, Madison and Morgan got a clean bill of health at the vet, and now they’re ready to find their forever homes!
Morgan is an adventurous little guy. He loves to zoom and binky and throw his toys around the room. Then he’ll flop and have a nap. Super cute! A short time after Morgan was neutered and Margot was spayed, we re-introduced them and they bonded again right away! Margot and Morgan like to play together, and they are often found curled up with each other for a nap. Rabbits do better with a friend, so we’re asking that Morgan and Margot be adopted as a pair so they’ll always have each other to love.
Wondering if a rabbit is the right pet for you? Check out this website.
Our fostered rabbits are housed in x-pens or similar enclosures so they have lots of room to move around when they aren’t out for floor time. Some of our rabbits are free range in their foster home.
Commercially made pet store rabbit cages are far too small to allow rabbits to stretch out and move around with ease.
Here are some great websites and photos outlining alternative rabbit housing using x pens and similar enclosures.
