Geisha
* Geisha found her forever home with a wonderful person! *
We rescued Geisha from Hamilton Animal Services. Geisha had been surrendered to the shelter by her owner because of her behaviour. Let’s just say Geisha has some “quirks.” She doesn’t seem to understand how to dog. While at the shelter, she gave off mixed signals about how she was feeling…mostly in the form of growling. It may be that she was scolded for growling in her previous home and now feels the need to growl because she’s upset for being told not to growl? We’ll never know for sure.
But, when she’s happy, she’s really happy! She can be a sweet dog when it suits her. 🙂
We got Geisha into the vet for a check-up, and she was in desperate need of dental surgery. While the vet was examining her teeth, some of them fell out with just a touch! Poor girl.
A short time after her first vet visit, Geisha had her dental surgery and she did great. She healed up perfectly in her foster home, and now she’s ready for her forever home!
Geisha needs a home with no children and no other pets. To be sure she can thrive in her forever home, we cannot make exceptions to the no pets/no children condition.
Here’s a note from Geisha’s foster home:
“We’ve had Geisha for about a month and in the short time she’s been here she has come such a long way!
She’s estimated to be anywhere from 9-11 years old however you wouldn’t know it. She is very playful and energetic. She actually is the only dog in the house that likes to play!
She would do best in a home with no other animals and in an environment with people that “get” feisty small dogs.
She has resource guarding issues and can bark if you get too close to her stuff.
She responds best to a soft loving voice rather than yelling and has AMAZING recall! No matter where she is, with just one call she comes running to you.
She does great in cars and at her last vet visit the vet said he already thought she seemed a lot calmer. The vet loved her and so did the employees at Paws in the Bath Toronto where she had a bath and grooming.
She does not do well around other dogs, and would do best in a home with no children..”
Please adopt Geisha!
