Stella was surrendered to Hamilton Animal Services by her owner because she was “not social.”
Staff at HAS noticed Stella seemed to be having trouble breathing, so they reached out to us for help.
We got Stella to the vet, and once they had her sedated for an xray, it was clear as to why Stella was breathing strangely… she was in an advanced stage of heart failure. Our vets advised that Stella’s condition was not treatable with medication or surgery. She was struggling to breathe and she was suffering. That was the last thing we wanted for her. The sad decision was made that day to let Stella go.

Stella, we’re so sorry we couldn’t help you. We hope you knew we loved you very much, even though we had just met you.
