Shyla
* Shyla found her forever home with a lovely person! *
Shyla came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. She was so shy, she would hardly move, and stayed flat as she could against the cage floor. Poor girl was actually quite friendly, but she was too scared to show anyone her sweet side.
At the vet visit on her rescue day, the vet found a spay scar, and he also found a small a lump under Shyla’s left front leg. Shyla had her cyst removal surgery a short time later, and she did great. The cyst was sent for testing, and it turned out to be nothing serious.
Soon after arriving at her foster home, Shyla was already purring and rolling for pats. She was obviously quite happy to be out of the shelter, and we’re happy she has an awesome foster home to care for her!
Shyla is now ready to find her forever home. Here’s a note from her foster family:
“Shyla lives up to her name at first, but has an adorable personality when she gets comfortable. She is a kitty who needs to have some accessible hiding spots for when things get overwhelming. She loves her comfy tent to retreat to when there’s a knock at the door, loud sounds (fireworks – eek!), or anything new in her environment. When she warms up, she is obsessed with massage sessions. Be sure to get her cheeks and chin, you might be honoured with some happy drool. She can be silly, throwing some catnip toys around for herself and bunny kicking them wildly. She has been known to crawl up and boop her foster humans on the nose with her paw when she wants attention. When things are relaxed at home she is thrilled to curl up next to you and live her best life. She’s a pro at eating, using her litter box, and getting her nails clipped. The crinkle of a bag of treats will have her running to you too.
Shyla has not gotten along with the other cat in her foster home and would likely be best suited for a forever home where she is the only beloved pet. Some patience with this shy sweetheart at first will have you reaping the rewards of her affection for the rest of her second life!”
