Tony
* Tony, Jonathan, Angela, Samantha and Mona found their forever home with wonderful people! *
Tony (Micelli), Jonathan (Bower), Angela (Bower), Samantha (Micelli) and Mona (Robinson) were surrendered to Mississauga Animal Services by their owner because they no longer wanted them. MAS separated the boys from the girls, and reached out to us for help.
All the birds had a vet check up, and now they’re ready to start the search for their forever home.
Tony and Jonathan are happy little birds. They make their sweet beep sounds and hop around their cage together. Finches are social birds, so we’re asking that Tony and Jonathan be adopted as a pair.
Ideal housing for zebra finches is a large flight cage, or an aviary for housing finches. The bigger the cage the better! See below for some cage examples.

When it comes to cages for birds, or any animal for that matter, the bigger the better! Most domestic birds are denied the freedom of full flight (which is a very sad circumstance we humans force them into) so the larger the cage, the happier your bird will be. The majority of cages sold in pet supply stores are far too small and can cause negative effects to a bird’s health and behaviour. The photos below are samples of cages that provide lots of room for finches. One example is two flight cages modified to make one large cage. Great idea!
