Captain Fuzzy Boots
* Captain Fuzzy Boots found his forever home with is foster family! Yay! *
Captain Fuzzy Boots ended up at Hamilton Animal Services as a stray, but no owner came to claim him.
Poor Captain was in rough shape when he arrived at the shelter. He was covered in mats, had an open wound behind his ear, his eye was ulcerated, and he had an infestation of ear mites. He was clearly neglected wherever he had been living before he ended up at the shelter.
During his time at HAS, Captain Fuzzy Boots came down with a severe upper respiratory virus. Respiratory illnesses are really tough on persian cats because of their narrowed nasal passages, and Captain was having a hard time breathing through all the mucus. Because Captain’s condition was getting worse, HAS staff reached out to us for help.
We had Captain transferred to Spencer Creek Animal Hospital so he could get immediate treatment and tests.
Thankfully, Captain is FIV and Feline Leukemia negative, but he did test positive for feline herpes. He was healthy enough to be neutered and the ulcer in his eye was debrided. We’re hoping the debriding of the ulcer will be enough that he won’t need to have the eye removed, but only time will tell.
Captain is such a friendly boy. All the staff at Spencer Creek Animal Hospital fell in love with him during his time at the clinic. We’re thankful that they were able to do his surgery during these crazy times!
Captain settled in well at his foster home… so well that his foster family decided he should stay forever! Congrats Fuzzy Boots!
