Myrtle
* Myrtle found her forever home with awesome people! Yay! *
Myrtle was surrendered to Hamilton Animal Services by her owner when they could no longer care for her. Myrtle was very frightened when she first arrived at HAS, but she warmed up pretty quickly when she realized everybody there was nice to her. When a foster home opened up, we were happy to get Myrtle out of the shelter. She had a vet visit the next day, and other than needing to lose a few pounds, Myrtle is in good health. We’ve got Myrtle started on a weight loss diet, and now she’s ready to find her forever home!
Here’s a note from Myrtle’s foster home:
“Myrtle was brought to the shelter when her previous owner could no longer care for her. She spent one day in hiding and then flomped down for some snuggles.
She is quite meowy in morning, (or is concerned for the safety of humans in showers), but once she gets her breakfast, she settles down.
She will greet you at the door when you come home and then flomp over for some belly rubs.
Myrtle enjoys watching the world go by on the window ledge and using her scratch pad.
She seems to be ok with small dogs (although the dog just ignored her), so may be ok with other cats and small, calm dogs.
She isn’t a lap cat, but will snuggle in close in the evenings, and she seems to like holding hands (or feet) while she lays beside you.
All in all, Myrtle is a lovely lady (although she isn’t ladylike while she begs for breakfast..) with a lot of affection for a lucky person.”
