Bender
* Bender found his forever home with a lovely person! Woo hoo! *
Back in 2020, Bender was surrendered to Hamilton Animal Services by his owner because they weren’t able to clear up his skin issues. Shelter staff assumed a flea allergy was causing Bender’s fur to be so thin and his skin to be crusty.
We got Bender out of HAS and into a foster home. On top of the skin problem, Bender was quite skinny. We had blood and urine tests done at his vet visit and everything came back normal. Seems poor Bender just needed to be flea free to feel better!
Bender was adopted in October of 2020, but unfortunately his adopter passed away, so he is back in our care. We’re lucky Bender could return to his original foster home to save him being shuffled to an unfamiliar place before he’s able to find a new home. We took Bender to the vet when he was returned to us, and he was given vaccines and a clean bill of health. He’s now ready to find his forever home!
Here’s a report from his foster mom:
“When Bender’s adoptive mom passed away, we were lucky enough to be able to take him back. What a difference two years makes! He was scrawny and scabby when he was here two years ago, now he is a big, handsome fella.
Due to a foster brother also being in the house, Bender gets his own room, which means he gets his own space, but is also limited to just this space. He definitely could use more room and more places to jump onto. He is gradually meeting his foster brother, but it’s slow going – both have been “only children” for most of their lives.
He still loves his snuggles and will full belly flop when it’s snuggle time. Bender is a sweet boy who has gone through a large change in his life recently, but still just wants all the cuddles.”
