UPDATE: We’re sad to report that one of our first permanent residents, Lucy, passed surrounded by foster parents who loved her. Lucy was a Ladybird permanent resident for 7 full years and received all the love from the very best foster family. Rest in peace, sweet Lucy.

We rescued Gizmo and Lucy together! These two seniors were left at Animal Control with two other cats after their owner passed away. Another local rescue organization took in the other two cats, and thankfully, we had a foster home at the ready who prefers senior cats. Gizmo wass 11 years old and Lucy was 13 at the time of rescue.

After a long and difficult battle with diabetes, we lost poor Gizmo. We are grateful to still have Lucy in Ladybird’s care as a permanent resident and are grateful to her incredible foster parents for providing her with such a loving home to live out her days.
