On November 2nd, 2021, Ladybird rescue Maleficent gave birth to seven babies. On November 12th, Madam Mim gave birth to 4 babies. They raised their babies together, and after being given a clean bill of health at the vet, everyone except for Prince Phillip and Diaval found their forever homes.

Diaval and Prince Phillip were sweet and curious boys, and though we had hoped they would find a forever home together, they developed a respiratory condition that they just couldn’t shake. They had many vet visits, and were on several rounds of different medications over the months, but our vets have advised that their condition would continue indefinitely. This illness caused them to slow down quite a lot. Aside from congestion and frequent sneezing, they were otherwise eating, exploring and doing okay. The boys loved to snuggle together in their hammocks and hang out under soft blankets for naps.
Taking into consideration their illness and advanced age, we decided to make Prince Phillip and Diaval permanent residents in early 2023. Their forever foster family were happy to love and spoil them until they passed peacefully – Prince Phillip first, and then Diaval a few days after.

Rest in peace, sweet boys. We’ll never forget you.
